Exterior Masonry Wall Bracing (Bowed Walls)

Commercial/Industrial

Bowed Exterior Masonry Walls

Exterior masonry walls require adequate thickness and connections into the roof or floor framing systems to properly resist wind pressures. These wind pressure can act to push exterior walls in or suck them outward.

As buildings with structurally defective exterior walls age the walls may begin to bow in or out. Bracing and straightening of failed walls can be accomplished by installing properly designed steel beams against the walls and connecting the beams through the wall and to the floor and roof systems.
